The proposed 1-day guided hiking tour will take us to the slopes of Mount Aragats - the highest mountain in Armenia. We will start our hike from the medieval fortress of Amberd. Built throughout 7th-10th centuries, the fortress is located on an elevation of 2300 meters above sea level, hence the name - a fortress in the clouds. After exploring the fortress, we will then continue our trail through a beautiful mountainous landscape with some stunning views, eventually descending down to the village of Tegher, where the 13th-century monastery of Tegher is located.
During our trip, we will also visit the Armenian alphabet monument.
